THE ROUTE
VIA EVERY CORNER OF SCOTLAND
EVROS will begin and end in the ‘Home of COP26’ – Glasgow. Chosen by the UK due to its experience, commitment to sustainability and world-class facilities, EVROS will follow hot on the heels of the GREENFLEET and EVOLUTION Scotland events, staged on 05 & 06 of November.
Leaving in a fanfare, from Arnold Clark’s stunning new EV Innovation Centre, the vehicles will wind their way through the city, heading for the first of 30 Checkpoints, in Edinburgh.
Co-drivers will accompany the Drivers, and act as eNavigators, plotting the route, from charge point to charge point, and after swinging by the first Checkpoint, we head down south-east, to the Wallyford & Choose EV charging hub, run by East Lothian Council, before making our way towards the border, headed for Gretna Green.
After wedding bells, we head to Kilmarnock for the first overnight stop. Day 2 will see us head for the Sloy Hydro Power Station on Loch Lomond and then onto Ben Nevis, for overnight stop 2, in Fort William.
Day 3, labelled “The Beast” due to it’s 320 miles and tricky terrain, begins with a visit to Skye, before heading way north, picking up the iconic NC500 in the Highlands, to Thurso, where we will bed down again. Day 4 is a monster, as we leave for John O’Groats, pay our respects with EVROS Remembers and then head down to Inverness and via Loch Ness to Aberdeen.
After a recharge, we head for Dundee on the final day, taking in the Michelin Scotland Innovation Parc, followed by a visit to the Hub, before heading to The Kelpies and then back to Glasgow.
We will arrive in a blaze of glory at the Western Commercial Mercedes-Benz dealership, who have kindly agreed to host us after a truly epic 5 days on the road… We can’t wait!
1200+ ELECTRIC MILES… UNBELIEVABLE!

CHECKING IN
ENGAGING AT EVERY CHECKPOINT
75% of the Checkpoints along the route will be EV charge poins…
This enables us demonstrate the public infrastructure and network that already exists and is widely believed to be up there as the best in the UK. And you know what? It’s only going to get better! Other Checkpoints will be iconic Scottish landmarks, to help with creative imagery.
At each Checkpoint, the drivers and their eNavigators will exit the vehicle, pop up some branding, take a picture of the charge point (and use it if necessary) and post on social media, using the key event #hashtags.
We expect Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn to be awash with EV enthusiasts watching the Rally unfold and we hope that many of them will congregate at the Checkpoints to welcome us in and wave us off.
Full details of the Official Checkpoints will be published in due course, after the planning has been concluded with Charging Partner, SWARCO, and with our Local Authority Partners.
We will also notify our followers of the overnight stop locations too, where they can pop along to the BEVERAGE BAR for a hot brew and a chat with the Drivers… And meet NEV!
We will have our camera crew on hand, with Chris Ramsey, doing LIVE interviews and broadcasting across the social media platforms, and here on evros.uk
Progress of the Rally will also be shown live, using innovative tracking technology, so watch this space for more announcements on how you can follow EVROS… LIVE!
